Environmental Policy

Global Protection Services Ltd is a professional and environmentally conscious organisation, which acknowledges the impact that our operations may potentially have on the environment.

The clear objective of GLOBAL PROTECTION SERVICES LTD is to minimise any impact on the environment by:

  • Preventing pollution, reducing waste and ensuring, wherever practicable, that measures are implemented to    protect and preserve natural habitats, flora and fauna
  • Considering the effects that our operations may have on the local community
  • Taking action to eliminate or reduce, as far as practicable, any potentially adverse environmental impacts
  • Promoting environmental awareness amongst our suppliers, contractors and partners by implementation of operational procedures
  • Seeking to work in partnership with the community by behaving in a considerate and socially responsible manner
  • Ensuring effective and expedient incident control, investigation and reporting.

Managerial and supervisory staffs have responsibilities for the implementation of the policy and must ensure that environmental issues are given adequate consideration in the planning and day-to-day supervision of all work.

GLOBAL PROTECTION SERVICES LTD will fully comply with the duties placed upon it within the requirements of legislation, whilst at all times complying with, as a matter of best practice, the requirements and duties set out within Approved Guidance as issued by the Environment Agency and other organisations. As part of the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest levels of environmental management, it is the intention that the company will work towards environmental management systems compliant with ISO14001.
All employees and sub-contractors are expected to co-operate and assist in the implementation of this policy, whilst ensuring that their own works, so far as is reasonably practicable, are carried out without risk to themselves, others or the environment. This includes co-operating with management on any environment related matter.

GLOBAL PROTECTION SERVICES LTD will take all practical steps to ensure that potential hazards and risks to the environment are identified and that suitable and effective preventive and control measures are implemented. All employees will be provided with the necessary resources, equipment, information, instruction and training to fulfill the requirements of this policy.
The directors have overall responsibility for all environmental matters. The operation of this policy and the associated procedures will be monitored and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that they remain current and applicable to the company’s activities. This policy has been endorsed by the board of directors which gives its full support to its implementation.

Recruitment Policy

Global Protection Services (GPS) ensures to recruit the most suitable person for the job. The recruitment and selection process of GPS have been designed to make sure that they are fair, consistent and equal for all applicants. GPS always ensures that all selection decisions are made on the basis of employees’ personal ability and skills and not on the basis of gender, ethnicity, disability, race, religion, nationality, skin colour, marital status, sexual orientation and age.

GPS works in line with the current legislation covering a wide range of policies and use those policies in its recruitment and selection process including job advertisement, job design, personal specification and short listing, interviewing, assessment.

We follow all the guidelines in process of recruitment and provide guidance in order to select the best individual for the job.

We also ensure that the individual has the right skills and qualifications to be able to do the job.

We also strive that the interview questions are easy to understand and relevant to the job requirements.

GPS remain open minded by maintaining a positive approach and avoid any discriminatory actions or language in recruitment process. All applicants are supposed to complete an application form including an Equal Opportunities section.

GPS performs the vetting and screening of all potential applicants by incorporating the BS 7858 code of conduct. GPS Ltd is registered with Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and the applicants? information is solely used for the purpose of selection and recruitment and in line with Data Protection Act 1998

GPS review and monitor its recruitment and selection process on a regular basis to bring in line with the updated policy.


Health and Safety

Global Protection Services (GPS) considers its employees the most important asset. We take a pride to fulfil our legal and moral obligations and to ensure that our employees are safe by designing Health and Safety Policy. GPS gives significant importance to the Health and Safety of all its employees at work.

The aim of our policy is to ensure that all employees carry out their duties in a safe environment and to avoid any undue risk to their Health and Safety.

For this purpose, GPS work hard to provide and maintain a safe practical working environment for its employees.

We are committed:

  • To comply with the current Health and Safety legislation.
  • To avoid any injury or ill health to all our employees and to those who are involved.
  • To design and implement a practical Occupational health and Safety Management system that fulfils the requirement of BSOHSAS18001:2007
  • And to continually make improvements to this system.
  • To apply and sustain consultation and communication procedures and systems internally as well externally.
  • And to inform all our employees of this policy.
  • To promote a greater understanding among the staff and to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities and roles with regards to hazard free environment and Occupational health and safety
  • To arrange regular Occupational Health and Safety Management meetings for reviewing the objectives and targets

GPS believes that a safe working environment is key to improve the efficiency of its employees and thus require its entire staff to show a positive and responsible approach towards Health and Safety Policy in order to avoid or minimise the occurrence of any incident or accident.

GPS also understands that co-ordination and communication is necessary to channel this though among all management levels so that the Company can achieve its overall Occupational Health and Safety objectives. This will ensure a safe working environment for everyone.
